Policies and Safety

All Employees are requried to have access to the City of Tifton Employee Handbook and the Safety Handbook. Employees are encouraged to read both handbooks. Supervisiors should go over the handbook with new employees within the first 6 months of hiring.  Safety Topics are released every month and all departments are required to go over each topic and have each employee sign off on it. The Employee Handbook, Safety Handbook, and Safety Topics can be found below.

E-Verify is an Internet-based system that allows businesses to determine the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States. E-Verify is fast, free and easy to use – and it’s the best way employers can ensure a legal workforce.

The City of Tifton participates in the E-Verify Program as required by Georgia State Law (OCGA 13-10-91). The City of Tifton’s Identification Number is 134226 and date of authorization was July 7, 2008
